AdaptWest Regional Climate Action Plan 2025–2030
The AdaptWest Regional Climate Action Plan 2025–2030 is a shared commitment by the City of West Torrens, City of Charles Sturt, and City of Port Adelaide Enfield to build a climate-resilient western Adelaide.
For more than a decade, the three councils have been working together to understand how climate change affects our region by running investigations, workshops, seminars and community events, and giving residents and businesses the tools to respond. This Plan is the next step.

The Plan focuses on five areas where we can make the biggest difference:
- Resilient Neighbourhoods: helping communities, homes and local businesses adapt to our changing climate.
- Low Carbon Region: reducing emissions and supporting households and businesses to move away from fossil fuels.
- Resilient Ecosystems: protecting and growing our urban tree canopy, waterways and biodiversity.
- Climate Risk and Hazard Reduction: identifying and managing climate risks to our infrastructure, coastlines and communities.
- A Strong Regional Partnership: working collaboratively, securing funding and advocating for our region.
No single organisation can tackle climate change alone. By working together across councils, with residents, community groups, businesses, government and researchers, we work smarter and we get more done.
